ABOUT PROeM

PROeM Ministries was founded in Warsaw, Poland in 1990 by Maui & Ewa Dwulat. Our office is now located at the PROeM Christian Center in Zakościele near Inowłódz.

Our work is based on the teachings of Scripture and Christian ethics. We partner with churches in Poland and abroad. We’ve been appointed by the Polish Protestant churches for over 20 years organizing summer and winter camps for children and young people. People from different churches and social backgrounds come and are involved in many projects.

HISTORY

Poland’s history is both courageous and tragic and still visible today.

Poles have known wars and times where people didn’t have land to call their own. The Catholic Church provided unity and identity for people during this time.
Since the fall of Communism in 1989, Poland’s economy and government is growing and evolving.
The population of Poland is around 38 million but is always changing.
Poland joined the European Union in 2004 and that has opened doors for many Poles to work abroad.

RELIGION

Almost 90% of Poles identify themselves as Roman Catholics.

After the fall of Communism, attendance in the Roman Catholic Church dropped, but still today about 87.5% of Poles identify themselves as Roman Catholics, although this number may be overestimated as the statistics often include people who were baptized into the Catholic church, even if they later abandoned the Church.
Less than 1% of the population in Poland is evangelical Christian. Most Poles view evangelical denominations as sects. We are working to break down denominational barriers throughout Poland, by challenging people to understand who God is and to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
